Engineered hardwood floors consist of HDF, hardwood and a layer of hardwood veneer. Veneer is a thin coating attached to the top layer of the flooring. Engineered flooring was designed to be more durable than natural hardwood floors especially in regards to withstanding heat and moisture. However, wood floors can be dangerous if they are too slippery, and floors made from engineered wood are no exception.
