Quarry Tile
Quarry tile are unglazed tiles that are very thick and dense. They are made from natural clay and shale and found most
commonly in dark red shades. Quarry tile is most often used commercially especially in restaurant kitchens. It is often found on restaurant patios or
floors of large buildings. Quarry tile is a durable flooring option that has good resistance to stains and water.
It is a fairly low maintenance choice and one of the most affordable ceramic tile options. Quarry tile does have more
slip resistance than glazed ceramic tiles but due to its common usage in high traffic areas people tracking water
inside or spilling a liquid can make it a hazardous area for slipping. In restaurant kitchen settings it is ideal to use a penetrating sealer after application to keep oils and grease absorbing into the tile.
